Unbelievable. I've been MIA as a result of the total meltdown of my computer. What was thought to be a dead monitor (I disovered the night before we flew to NY for a suprise visit to Grandma's to celebrate her 80th birthday) turned out to be much much more. Several days, and several hundred dollars later my computer has been reincarnated (once again as a computer), but my monitor remains dead. Thankfully nothing important was lost in the recovery. Woe is me.
P.S. New sets have been added to Mighty Girl Magnets. Check them out!

Just when you think everything has settled back into it's normal state, and there is no possible way anything else can go wrong. Something else happens. Irony. Coincidences. The familiarity & likeness of fiction to real life.
Plus I can't sleep past 7:30 am anymore. I went east, and my internal clock stayed there.

To think that I have absolutely no excuse for not "blogging" over the past week. It's not as if there haven't been random thoughts zipping through my mind.
Such as...I realized that I am a true procrastinator. I wait until the last minute to do things, and I believe I function best that way. I don't need to be reminded, or hounded about getting things done as I have a constant mental (if not physical) list of things "to do". Be it work, or everyday tasks. I had a strong inkling this was my style growing up (my parents were constant reminders), and throughout my college years (I pulled a few late (late) nights). But I'm sure of it now. Without a shadow of a doubt. I am a procrastinator with a capital "P".
Some may percieve this as a negative trait. I beg to differ. My tasks are always completed on time. I show up on time & prepared, and get plenty of sleep. All this with a smile on my face. Procrastination is the way to go. At least in my world.
Why am I writing this at 11pm? Because I'm working on a project. A project I acquired on Friday morning. A project that is due first thing tomorrow morning. I project I didn't even peek at until 9 o'clock tonight. After I had come home. Talked to Emily. Ate Quizno's for dinner. And took in the latest episode of American Idol.
So there it is. Take it or leave it. It may not be on your "schedule". But. The plans get made. The tickets get bought. What's broken gets fixed. The work gets done. Your call gets returned. The changes get made. That's how I work. And it works for me. |

The latest.
The greatest.
Heather's Favorite Things...
Very Different Cakes
I haven't actually eaten one...but WOW are they cool!
"Half Baked" / Ben & Jerry's Lowfat Frozen Yogurt
Yum, Yum...and Yum Yum. A great lowfat version of a great flavor!
Netflix.com
If you are a moviewatcher, nothing beats this. Three movies at once, all the time. No late fees. No shipping costs. No pressure. One low monthly price. You'll never have to go to the video store again.
Sex & The City
Thank you Netflix (see above). So far I'm half way through the 4th season. It's fantastic, wildly entertaining, and I find myself entwined in the the lives of 4 very different women.
Lanna Thai
A Thai restaurant in Everett, Washington. A "diamond in the rough". Not only is it beautiful...the food is great!
"Desperately" by George Strait
A good, good song.

Making the blog. Is it something friends & family aspire to? The truth of the matter is that not everything is "blog appropriate". I don't want everyone to know everything, and I'm sure there are plenty of tidbits that my friends & family don't want shared, or to share in for that matter. So don't be down and out if you don't "make the blog". Your time will come...Mike.
PS. You're Famous.

Yesterday I went through the drive-thru window at the bank. I proceeded to pass my deposit through the drawer to the teller. I asked for my $10 cash back as a roll of quarters (for laundry), and I glanced at the tellers nametag. It read "Jeremy Ann". I have to admit it caught me off guard, but I just figured her parents had their reasons. It's not a name you come across everyday.
I was starving! I headed across the street to the Taco Bell drive-thru to grab a quick lunch. I placed my order, proceeded to the pick-up window, and began the payment process. Again, I glanced at the woman's nametag, and lo and behold, it was "James". I didn't have any logical reasons for why someone would name their daughter James. I have to admit I was a bit floored that I was 2 for 2, in a row! What are the odds, really?
If I ever have a daughter. Please remind me not to name her "Billy Bob Bolesh". Thanks.

I recently realized that I have brown hair. I'm not sure when that happened because in my head my hair is blonde, but on my head the hair is brown. I looked in the mirror the other day (like I do every morning) and had a moment of clarity. I am still weighing my options, and developing a nice set of coping skills. |

After a rough, exhausting week, I was feeling like I was running around like a chicken with my head cut-off. (what kind of messed up expression is that?). Anyways, I was working 2 jobs (Tacoma & Seattle), driving alot (I'm sure you've all witnessed the price of gas), visiting with my aunt & uncle who were in town, I had 12 minutes to replace my broken computer monitor, I took in 2 Mariners games (both depressing losses, mind you), a movie, and had a ton of freelance work to do at night. Friday night came and I was so looking forward to getting in my bed and staying there as long as I saw fit. This morning my upstairs neighbor decided to take her 8:30 a.m. phone call out onto the front porch, which is luckily located right above my bedroom window where I was trying to sleep my stressful week away. It just figures.
On a happier note:
Happy Birthday Ruby! She's One!

I'm torn between declaring that I'm sick, or that I have raging allergies. I have gook in my face where I didn't even know there were chambers. I am sneezing uncontrollably (while driving even, so so unsafe). I can't breathe. Which made for a horrid night of sleeplessness, and nose blowing. (Are you getting a visual?). On top of my physical issues, I was coding websites in my sleep last night. Sometimes this happens when I have alot to do & I guess I'm just visualizing the workload to come. Unfortunately coding in my head does not equal actual work getting done in real life. But the website I was coding in my head, was entirely fictional. For some Italian website. What!? Maybe it was my subconscience telling me to lay down on the sofa, eat soup, and finish watching "Under The Tuscan Sun". Good Plan. (she says in her best "Bridget Jones" voice) . |

When I lived in Bellingham there was a small publication that could be found around town. I can't for the life of me remember the name of it, but it had a section called "Tidbits". Random facts & bits of knowledge that I always enjoyed reading. Here are some random tidbits of late.
I got my pink polar fleece North Face jacket in the mail today. I can't even begin to express how happy it makes me.
Ruby Grace started walking yesterday. She's a bad ass.
We have an brand new e-newsletter at work, if you'd like to sign up Click Here!
I also have an announcement. After a very long time, and alot of work "on the side" Pink Lady Accessories is up & running. You really should check it out, and by all means, buy some jewelry.
That's all for now... |

Wow. Did I have a domestic day. I did alot of laundry, deep cleaned my apartment, did some errands, made a pasta salad, and baked some muffins. Amid all the domesticity I did manage to add some new sets to Mighty Girl Magnets as well, book my flight to San Diego for Emily's wedding in August, and gather some stuff up for the garage sale at mom's next weekend. I'm off to watch The Cat & The Hat so I can send it back to Netflix and get the last piece of the Sex & The City puzzle (at least until the final batch of episodes comes out on DVD). Busy girl. Busy Day. Gear up for June. It's tomorrow! |
