Sunday...
sigh. A perfect day for watching "Lifetime Original Movies"...one after the other, though that is not how I spent my day...

I guess you could say I'm kind of on a "miracle kick"...as 2 of the books I've read recently have dealt with this subject matter, and they have brought me glimpses of wonder and have changed my perspective. I read "Expecting Adam" by Martha Beck, probably the best book I've ever read. If you never read another book you should read this one. It is just profound.
And last night I finished "Peace Like A River" which was also filled with miracles both big & small. They are just good reads...and offer (in a word) possibility.

"Most Americans believe someone isn't grown up until age 26, probably with a completed education, a full-time job, a family to support and financial independence, a survey said on Thursday."

Well good thing I have a few more months to pull the things together I still need to make me a "grown up"...a full-time job, a family to support, and financial independence. Do you think I can pull this off by September?

P.S - Welcome Home Kenley!

Agh! It is 12:02 am on a Tuesday night (make that Wednesday morning)...and my "to do" lists have spiraled out of control. I am afraid they will organize (not as a result of me) and bury me in my sleep
...

Did I mention how tired I am...exhausted without an end in site. I did manage to get through my "to-do" lists but I still have a few stragglers. I am functioning on very little sleep...working at The Real Estate Book all weekend, and awaiting the "it's time" phone call
from Kara!...Yikes! (but in a good way)

Do you ever HATE every piece of clothing you own? I am at the point where I feel like everything is plain. So I go to the mall to try to liven up my wardrobe and everything at the mall is plain. Sure there are thousands of solid color shirts/tanks/tees to be found but nothing but plain. Plain. Plain. Plain. Where have all the patterns gone?

I was waiting for summer...a hint of warm weather, potential for my skin to be a color other than pasty white, reading a good book in the sun, flip flops, crop pants, sunglasses, driving with the window down...sigh...and the weather is warm and pleasant. It's shaping up to be warmer. But what has happened. Allergies. In full force. Oh my head is stuffed with fluff.
Sniff. Sneeze. Yuck.

I was watching MTV "True Life" and as a result I've been completely enlightened. As many of you know I have a "phobia" of cats. I don't want to touch them, I don't want them near me...they make my skin crawl.
They really are the most disgusting sneaky awful creatures. Well, there was a girl on this show who refused to go into the laundromat to wash her clothes because of a cat. Though she wanted to wear her favorite shirt on Tuesday and it was among the dirty clothes. Finally a connection...I felt her pain!

One of my favorite Oprah episodes is "Oprah's Favorite Things", and a "new feature" of the letters between myself & my penpal of 10 years, Gerlawn. I've decided to pay tribute to Oprah & Gerlawn and provide a service. "Heather's Favorite Things". So here are a few to get you started...just in case you need a gift idea, or just simply wondered

"Expecting Adam" by Martha Beck
(I can't say enough about this book)

Chocolate!
(any kind will do, but I really like Dove Dark Chocolate)

GAP's Favorite T's
(the best t-shirts around)

Notting Hill
(one of the best movies of all time)

Rome, Italy...everyone should go
(minus the cats)

Pedicures
(there is nothing better)

PS. Happy Birthday Lyn!
