Awhile back I requested some funny pictures to create a new photo gallery entitled "The Funniest Pictures Ever!". I was left to my own devices to compile these (minus just a couple contributors). I am hoping these will inspire you, and make you laugh out loud of course. There are more coming soon, but here's a warm up! Without further adieu, I present: The Funniest Pictures Ever!
Happy Birthday Kenley! |

I wouldn't say I'm a huge horse racing fan. Though I have been to the racetrack in Saratoga and placed my bets based solely on the name of the horse. I always make a mental note to "go there" when I drive by Emerald Downs. I adore the horse racing scene in "My Fair Lady" where she screams "Come on Dover, Move Your Bloomin' Ass". And I love Seabiscuit, I clapped in the movie theatre for cryin' out loud. A giant no-no in my book.
On this warm lazy Friday afternoon (at work) I've found myself perusing the internet and sucked into the phenomenon that is Smarty Jones. After all it's just a horse. This horse seems to have a personality all his own. He knows he's good. Will he win the Belmont Stakes & claim the Triple Crown? A feat that hasn't been accomplished since 1978. Almost my entire life. I hope so. A cocky horse. What's not to love.
Who knows, I may even tune into the race on Saturday. |

I went to the gym after work and stepped on the scale like I normally do. I was mortified by the number, and thought to myself, "There is no way I can weigh that much". So I schlumped to the other side of the locker room, changed my clothes, and went to aerobics class to work out. All in all not feeling very good about myself, on top of the fact that my knees hurt. After class I headed back in the locker room and I stepped on the scale again. (I like to do this to see what the difference is, it's a fun experiment.) After I worked out I weighed 13 lbs less than I weighed before. Now, there is either something wrong with that scale, or I had a hell of a workout.

Congratulations Sarah!
Today is the day that my sister is finished with her Associates Degree. After lots of night classes & working 40 hours a week she is finally done. Good work sister. We're proud of you. Now it's on to the next half...

Oh...my achin' belly.
I just got home from Taste of the Nation in downtown Seattle. We were the official graphic design sponsors for the event, we created the programs, signs, tickets, etc... It was alot of work, but we got to sample food from the best restaurants in the city. Yum! And don't even get me started on the Dessert Cafe. Oh my god.
So good. But so full. I have to go lay down.

I'm not a cryer. Very few things that don't involve people & things close to my heart can make me cry. A movie here and there. One book that I can think of, and Oprah on a good day. Tonight I found myself watching Ronald Reagan's final memorial service on a hilltop in California and was moved to tears, lots of tears. Go get some tissue tears.
For most of the week, I was disconnected from it. Yes, it's sad that a former president has died, but he was old, and that's what happens when you get old. I hadn't watched many images of the multiple memorials that were taking place. I had just finished "Calendar Girls" and landed on the coverage of the final service by default. Watching Nancy Reagan during her final goodbye was just too much. Realizing he wasn't just an actor, a president, a great man, but her husband and partner for countless years. And she had to say goodbye in front of the nation. I'm glad I got to witness it, and realize, and cry.
Patti Davis recounted Reagan's last moments in her eulogy during the burial service. "I know that at his last moment, when he opened his eyes, eyes that had not opened for many, many days, and looked at my mother, he showed us that neither disease nor death can conquer love," she said. |

On monday nights I usually go to step aerobics class at the gym. Not this monday, oh no...you will never believe what I did. I went sailing. Not just sailing. Sailboat racing in Shilshole Bay. It was so much fun! Then we went to The Sloop for beers, food, and the results.
Congratulations Mary-Ann on your Vegas wedding!

Today is a good day.
It's Friday.
It's warm & sunny.
It's payday.
It's the last day I have to drive to Tacoma to work on The Real Estate Book.
My sister is coming to stay overnight.
We're going to The Melting Pot for dinner to eat fondue.
We are going to the Shania Twain concert.
We are meeting up with the Reisingers & friends to help Amber's bachelorette party be a success.
We are going to sleep, without an alarm clock in sight.
Today is a good day.
PS. This day that started out perfectly quickly turned into the day from hell. I was at work in Tacoma much longer than expected. Was a sweaty puddle by the time I got to Seattle to meet my sister who had gotten to my house before me. I didn't get to pick up my paycheck. They almost gave our reservation away. I got phone calls from work asking me questions about how to do stuff during dinner, during Shania's finale, and around 1am. That is SO not okay. We didn't make it to the bachelorette party. So there it went. Ugh!

Today is Father's Day. It's an easy thing to forget when your dad is on the other side of the country. I didn't forget. Especially since my dad sent my sister & I movie gift certificates for Father's Day. That's right, he sent us a gift. It was thoughtful, and a great surprise. I just wish he could come to the movies with us.
Happy Father's Day Dad!
We wish you were here. |

I want a new website. I want it to look different. I'm bored with this one. I want to have comments like Mojan. I want to change everything. It's a huge undertaking, and I'm dreading that part. Plus Movable Type is totally overwhelming, mostly because I have no idea to even begin. I feel like a dork. My website is officially "old school". What should I do? |
