I went to Hairmasters today to get a trim.
That is not something I do.
I figured I would save $ because I just wanted the ends cut off...no style...nothing fancy. Not that I am "to good" for it, but there are a couple things I am NOT thrifty about...one being good haircuts, another being good shoes. It's a little shorter than I'd wanted...And the experience overall left alot to be desired. Next time I think I'll just pay full price. Even if it is just a trim.

Happy 4th of July!
I love that it's Friday and there is very little work to be done. Though the 4th is NOT one of my favorite holidays...there is always the pressure to have plans or be doing something, and I seldom have "plans" for the 4th...but maybe, just maybe I will have some "cool plans" today.
Happy Birthday Holly!

I am SO proud of my mom. She is SO brave! (braver than me I am sorry to say!) She put on her big brave shoes and asked a man at work out...and he said "YES!". I must admit, it is something I never thought she would actually do, but she did it!...and she is my hero for today.

NEWS FLASH! (I can't believe this is making Yahoo! News) Britney Spears is not a virgin...WHAT!? Well now, who would of thought? Luckily, I didn't love her because she was a virgin so I am suffering only very minor levels of shock and devastation! I'm kidding. (Just in case anyone thought I was serious. Kidding about the shock & devastation...NOT the loving her. Because I still do!

Less than 24 hours before I am sitting in the 11th row at the Key Arena singing along with the Dixie Chicks...
I cannot wait.

The Dixie Chicks were incredible...and I got a rhinestone Dixie Chicks tank top that may be a tad bit cooler than my Britney Spears souvenir t-shirt...what more could a girl want?
Sigh...plenty.
I am exhausted.
(so a good sleep would be good).
My head hurts.
(so a miracle headache cure would do the trick)
I have book club tomorrow and I didn't even purchase the book.
(I don't think there's any help for me there).
Need I go on?
I think a trip to Barnes & Noble will do me good. I'm off...

It was a hot day. I took a little break to jaunt across the street to the AM/PM to get a refreshing beverage. I spotted the ice cold 20 oz. Cranberry Grapefruit SOBE that I was after. I paid for it. Strolled back across the street...twisted the cap open, looked under it, and there it was! The cap was home to the best phrase I've come across yet...
"Sweet Canadian Mullet"
What this had to do with my refreshing beverage...I haven't a clue. But it made me laugh out loud...and the cap now has a permanant home on my desk.

I love quotes.
My quote selections are deliberate, and chosen with care. (in case you haven't caught on). I guess because I hope that they will be read and appreciated, or at least add a little bit of "heather" to your day.
I love that they are so simply stated and to the point. I love that they communicate things that can be silly, serious, or wise. They can offer a glimmer of hope, or a new way to look at a situation. They are refreshing. At least I think so.
Enjoy.

Oh man, what a weekend.
Friday night I spent at the Mariners game with Ami & her family. Our seats were directly in the sun and we couldn't see a thing...until we stuck our tickets to our foreheads with a good amount of spit...and wa-la, a perfect visor!
Saturday we headed to Portland and had an all day BBQ at Ami & Matt's house. Then the big yellow school bus (yes, that's right) picked up all 18 of us and drove us to the Kenny Chesney concert at the Clark County Ampitheatre. Good times were had by all...but it's Sunday now and I feel like I got hit by a bus, rather than was a passenger on one!
Now it's back to work tomorrow...and I have to find somewhere to live in Seattle soon...the drive is wearing me down. |

July 28, 2003
I don't know what I was thinking when I chose "the joy of the journey is in the ride"...because there is NOTHING joyous about being in the car.
I am sick of driving to Seattle everyday.
I am sick of sitting in my non-air conditioned car in a puddle of my own sweat when it is a whopping 90 degrees outside every day.
I am frustrated because I don't have anytime to look for somewhere to live...and even if I did, it's very overwhelming. Especially since the places I want to live in are for sale for $600,000+, and I have about $1.00.
Needless to say I'm in a foul mood. |

July 30, 2003
Enough is enough.
Just in case anyone hasn't caught on.
It's hot. So so hot.
Abnormally hot.
I can't remember the last time it rained. I don't think I've ever been so uncomfortable. Not only is it hot in my car on my 1+ hour drive to & from Seattle. It's hot in the office. (Almost as hot in the office as it is in my car). It is almost unbearable. My sundress was completely soaked (as gross as it sounds) when I got home. I had to shower just from going to work & coming home. UGH!?
This is not how Seattle is supposed to be. Where is the cool ocean breeze? Emily informed me today that San Diego (where it is supposed to be like this...AND they have air conditioning) is mild & rainy...WHAT!?
Just let it be normal.
I am not having fun filling my blog with complaints.
And I'm sure that you aren't having all that much fun reading them.
I promise this is the last entry about the weather...for now. |

HALLELUJAH!
THE END OF THE COMMUTE IS NEAR!
I found an apartment in Seattle today. It is perfect. I am so relieved, and so excited! ...And it finally cooled off a little bit. |
