I hate people that clap in movies.
I don't watch horse movies.
Today I did both of those things.
And I liked it.

It has been a very busy week.
It is the eve of my new life as a Seattle-ite.
I am signing off...
(until I get my internet hooked up on Wednesday)
Good Night & Good Luck.

I do realize I have been hopelessly neglecting a blog entry. I have been very very busy adjusting to my new "Seattle" life. Since I last wrote I have:
Moved everything I own into an adorable apartment on Queen Anne, and rediscovered all the things I own |
Reversed my commute for a few days, and drove from Seattle to Tacoma, AGH!? |
Bought a new tv stand & bookcase |
Danced to "The Humpty Dance" with Ruby Grace |
Watched Ichiro throw a Toronto Blue Jay out at 3rd base all the way from right field! |
Got a haircut & fresh perm...gotta keep the curls fresh! |
Decided I want a hula bathroom |
Wondered why they don't just sell red popsicles, why you are forced to buy orange & grape popsicles when all you really want is the red ones |
Happy Anniversary Mojan & Eric! |

Yahoo!!!
I just spent the evening at the brand new Tulalip Casino celebrating Amy's 27th birthday. We had a buffet dinner...and then I won $30 playing 5 cent "Jackpot Party", my slot machine of choice. The same Jackpot Party Sarah & I sought out when we were in Vegas...god I love that game.
Happy Birthday Amy |

I am confident I finally picked a good book.
I had book club tonight. And it was my turn to pick the book. I hate being the "book picker" because I feel so much pressure. I want to pick a good book, seeing as everyone has to read what I tell them to read for the month. I feel responsible for everyones literary happiness. I usually find myself wandering aimlessly through Barnes & Noble. Trying to find a cover that appeals to me (YES! I judge the books by their covers!), as well as a summary that sounds like a good story. This is harder than it sounds. I have picked some bad books, and some so so books...but never a good book.
This time I picked a book that was recommended AND by an author we have read previously. So I'm feeling pretty good about my decision. We'll just have to wait a month for the consensus!...OH! and the meeting will be in my new apartment! |

I am back from whirlwind trip to NY (upstate). We crammed just about all the relatives we could fit into 4 days and boy am I tired. I will be back in full swing after a good night's sleep!
Happy Anniversary Jen & Jay!
Happy Birthday Michael!

Seattle Sunshine Breaking Weather Records
I just wanted to tell all of you people who live in Florida where it's terrible hot with 300% humidity, or in the Midwest where it's hot & there are bugs...or anywhere but here that Seattle in the summer is a perfect place to live. Especially this summer. Seattle set a record for 50 consecutive days of temps over 70 degrees. This is not only a record. It's a miracle!
My favorite quote from this news story which graced the headlines of my Yahoo! homepage for about an hour this afternoon is as follows:
"We just got the economy so bad that it'll keep people away and now you're broadcasting this word of good weather," said Dietrich. "They might all start coming again." |
