I wore flip-flops today. How happy springtime is that? I love it. |

I think everyone is looking for a little inspiration. In life, or what to "blog" about next. I found it on the Dixie Chicks Official Artist Club website in a roundabout way. I got an email saying I was eligible for a FREE T-Shirt. Fantastic, I'm all over that...And I ended up browsing the site for a few minutes. There is a diary section where Natalie had an entry entitled "Queen For A Day" in which she lists how things would be if she had her way. Here it is (borrowed, of course) in my favorite format (a list!)...with some "Heather Embellishments & Edits" (duh!?)
There would be no weapons. |
All the leaders of the world would have their arms tied together until they could learn to work out their problems. (My dad did this to my sister and me once. And if it makes two sisters stop fighting I figure it will work for anybody) |
Everyone would have a passport and get to see life outside of Lubbock, TX...or wherever they may be. |
Only good songs would be played on the radio (Queen's choice). |
People would be able to marry the person they loved. |
American Idol would stop making a 10-minute reveal show on Wednesday nights into an hour-long special filled with the worst music videos and show choir medleys of all time. |
All innocent people would be freed from prison. |
More food would = weight loss. |
Everyone would care about the environment. |
There would be free speech. |
No child would be abused. |
I could speak all languages. |
People's integrity could not be bought. |
Cheese & Chocolate would be free. |
There would be no AIDS and no hunger. |
The number of award shows would be cut in half. First to go: every Dick Clark production. |
Bennifer would have never been. |
There would be no cats. |
All of my friends & family would live within 10 miles of me. Forever. |

Today is my "Blog Anniversary". A whole year of deep thoughts, worthless ramblings, and an insight into me & my everyday life. Funny, when I started I just wanted to be as cool as Mojan. I was worried about what to write about, and if anyone at all would read it. Now I feel an obligation to deliver, and it's a great way to vent, share, and enlighten.
Today I am happy to announce that I made my very first Mighty Girl Magnets online sale to someone I don't know!
Today I realized that my affliction for DOTS & diet pop at 2pm everyday may, in fact, be a very real addiction.
Today is my cousin Kristin Kervan's Birthday. Happy Birthday to you! |

We had a photo shoot at work this morning to get some photos to use in press releases, magazine articles, and on our website. Here are the 2 photos we picked to share with the world.

0 and 4. What is going on with the Mariners? Even the Texas Rangers have won 2 games. That is just about embarassing. Make it stop!

I started reading The DaVinci Code last night. I have to admit, it's good & a bit addicting. And all the art references are great because I know exactly who & what he is talking about. I couldn't put it down. Then I decided I'd better put it down. It was starting to freak me out a little bit. A dark museum. A murdered curator who had used his body as a symbol of something (I have to keep reading to find out) in his last living moments. And a religious secret society. It started to creep me out. I have an active imagination, and that's no good when you are living alone. I'll dive back into it tonight and keep you posted. |

Finally. This past weekend I was finally introduced to good Chinese food in this city. There is seafood for days, and teriyaki on every corner, but I had yet to come across good Chinese food. Until now. Thankfully Sunny took me to the place. It's called The Black Pearl. It's just what I was looking for. And that's all she wrote.

Sometimes I wish I could take my shower in the morning and leave the "towel turban" on my head all the live long day... |

Audited. I'm getting audited. I heard on the radio you have a 1 in 154 chance of getting audited. Just my luck. Oh no, it's not like I didn't already fork over thousands of dollars to the government. If you were Uncle Sam, wouldn't you audit the people who got returns, or didn't owe anything? Not the people that were unemployed for a portion of the year and have a small business. Unbelievable.

My car broke down today. Outside of Quizno's. Four hours, fifty-six games of video poker on my cellphone, a troubleshooting session with the AAA man, plus $400 and a new starter later I had my car back. |

Last night I went to my first Mariners game of the season. And by some act of god...they actually managed to win! Up until this point the season has been just short of embarrassing. I did indulge in the mandatory garlic fries, and I think the smell just wore off! To wrap up the night, I managed to get a parking ticket for something totally invalid. Add it to the perils of my week. |
